Orthotics are supportive devices used for any body part to align a joint, assist with weak muscles, and control movements which are excessive. A well designed orthotic should both stabilize and encourage better mobility. This allows your child to participate in a wider range of experiences, and have more success in their activities. Ultimately, the goal for your child is to achieve more independence in their life, and for your child to have more control over their life.
Orthotics can facilitate greater range of motion, improve balance and coordination, prevent or correct deformity and improve function.
