"And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God."

Our Story

Walking and Wheeling was launched in October of 2005 by Peter Jacques, PT to meet the orthotic needs of children in Northeast Wisconsin who were Wisconsin Medicaid recipients. Since 2005 we have expanded to serve the needs of children for orthotics, mobility and positioning throughout the entire state of Wisconsin. We started with just one child for one ankle foot orthotic, and now serve over 500 different children per year with over a 100 different products, and services. We also meet the rehab equipment needs of many schools and clinics. Peter began the business in a small office in his home, and used his garage to store equipment. He now operates the business in a kid friendly, 1800 square foot facility. Walking and Wheeling has served children and their families in the family's home, in daycares, schools, medical clinics, therapy facilities, and at our main office location. Our patients and clients come from a vast variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, and diagnoses.

From our earliest days, we have specialized in the areas where families need the most guidance: custom pediatric orthotics, adaptive mobility equipment, and comprehensive physical therapy evaluations. We know that navigating these systems can feel overwhelming, and we walk alongside families every step of the way.

Our Christ-centered approach shapes everything we do — from how we treat each child to how we partner with families, schools, and medical teams. We believe that healing and hope go hand in hand, and that every child is fearfully and wonderfully made.
